They have Bk-7 Prisms which produces a image that is sharp and bright, while most other zoom binoculars are extremely dark.The field of view is pretty small, but that is to be expected of zoom binoculars. It can be difficult at times to find objects in order to zoom in on them, but with a little practice it is hardly going to be a problem. These binoculars are most effective for activities that do not have a lot of movement, like maritime, sporting events, etc. They are a bit too bulky and heavy to carry around for hiking, and they are a bit too powerful for hunting.
The binoculars feature two powers for zoom, 8x and 24x. The gap is pretty big, and it will take some time to learn how to focus on distant objects. The trick is to use the 8x first, and then switch to the 24x. Switching powers on these binoculars is easy. One of the draw backs behind having such a powerful zoom is that you need to have a pretty steady hand. The picture can be a little shaky otherwise. If they were any stronger, then they would need to be on a tripod.
